Coca and Sovereignty Campaign aims to raise awareness current and traditional uses of coca leaf that allow demystify the general view that global citizenship is the sacred coca leaf, as well as retrieve and disseminate the Andean people use various forms of sheet for food, medicinal and complementary products.

Background:
Since its inception in The Assumption (Sud Yungas) in June 2003, the campaign has continued with exhibitions, seminars and meetings in El Alto in October 2004 in La Paz in October 2005 and January 2006. These fairs intercultural Coca and Sovereignty are counting on the participation of exhibitors from Peru, Colombia, Argentina, Bolivia and other countries, including Europe. The fair will be held at the Plaza Alonso de Mendoza, from Tuesday, October 24 , culminating on Sunday 29 October, under the kind auspices of the Administrative Office of the Municipal Government of Cultures. At and the fairground will be provided with tents to display spaces, the Administrative Office of Economic Development of Municipal Government kindly provides us each year.
On Saturday October 28th will be a great Andean Chaskis Marathon, and the closing ceremony will feature musical performances by rock, hip-hop and traditional music in a big closing event and auction of products, Plaza Alonso de Mendoza.
